Millbrook

Millbrook is a village of roughly 1,600 people tucked into a valley in the Township of Cavan Monaghan, just southwest of Peterborough. It grew up around a sawmill John Deyell built in 1816, and today the village has around 45 heritage-designated buildings, including the restored Needler's Mill beside the millpond. Each summer, 4th Line Theatre stages original Canadian plays outdoors on a working farm just outside the village. Right from the south edge of town, the Millbrook Valley Trails offer more than 13 kilometres of walking and cycling paths along Baxter Creek, with a link into the Ganaraska Forest. Homes include heritage houses in the village, newer streets on its edges and plenty of farms and country properties across the rolling Cavan countryside. Highway 115 is just minutes away, making the drive to Peterborough or back toward Durham Region straightforward.
